End of an Era 8187-2141-038

Well as you all know,

Last night was the final night for “Fame”. It was a bittersweet feeling, it was good for it to be over, but at the same time, I don’t think any of us who worked on it will have that much fun on a musical for some time to come. I have to say personally that I enjoyed every minute of it, and I’m absolutely devastated that it’s over. I can’t wait to get a copy of the DVD and audio recording so I’ve got a permanent version.

I’ve been looking up versions of “Fame” on the net, and I have to say -completely without any bias- that nothing I have found comes even close to our production. The effort that everyone put in was astounding, and it really paid off in the end.

As for the actual performances, Lighting went exceedingly well, with a grand total of 6 (only 2 of them were actually noticable) miscues across all three nights, with the final night being completely flawless; Sound was alright feedback-wise (surprising, considering Hammo was operating…), but the steel of the set interfered with the microphones so it didn’t sound to good at some points; The backstage crew was absolutely fantastic; and even (yes, I did say it):

The actors weren’t too bad.

- They did make a shitload of mess in D1 though.

Last night we presented Techie Vests to the staff who were involved with Tech, and they all seemed pretty happy about them (even Johnny, to some extent). We got Belly ‘Director’, Pant ‘Venue Manager’, and Pullyblank, Wallice and JP ‘Tech Crew’. It is definately a thing to stay, and we’ll have to keep it going after Luke and the other Seniors graduate.

 On that note, Congratulations to the Senior Techies for their last performance at Haileybury;

You will be sorely missed.

And that is that,

The End.
