Well it’s time for another post,
The last week has been really hectic, with “Fame” rehearsals and the such, culminating in last nights opening night..
It was a fairly smooth show, apart from Luke, who had two major stuff ups..
This was taken at 1836hrs last night.
For those of you who don’t know the schedule, house opened at 1910hrs, and the show started at 1930.
What’s significant about this was the fact that Hawley’s car had broken down in the middle of Springvale Road, and after Luke got out of the car to check what was wrong with it, the drivers door locked behind him. He then proceeded to get Laura to run into the hall and find Belly, where he reacted with a “So?”… Until he realized that the car was in the middle of the road.
Word got around, until we had a congregation of Techies in the middle of the road, all trying to break into Lukes car so we could get back to prepping for the show. Dale eventually broke in, but because the handbrake was stuck down, Luke had to reverse across the road then back into school.
After this had all died down and we got the show going, it seemed that everyone was into a groove…
…Until the end of Act One.
As we were getting closer to the interval, we were coming up on the the cue for the lights to end, and as we were about to standby, (About 20 seconds before the cue), the main curtain started to close!!! The dancers kept going, and by the time that they had finished, the curtain was completely closed and they had to go under it to get back on stage.
The same thing happened at the end of Act Two, but that was a bit less problematic because it was actually on the cue that Belly gave Luke.
Now Luke has a name to rival that of Dale’s (4:30);
”Curtains”.
