Today was the Techies first rehearsal for ”Fame” and we got a massive amount done for the short time that we had.

Between 1000 and 1600, we managed to hang all of the blacks, lower a heap of 22/40’s, clean some 2k’s, attach some more walls to the set, and hang 10 22/40’s off the side-perches. Add about 45 minutes for lunch in there as well.

I’ll start off with the blacks. In short, they suck. A bit more elaborated, they really suck. Not to worry, they’re done now, and they’re not coming down until after SSSN (Fingers-Crossed).

The 22/40’s are not so bad, as they are much more accessible than the blacks (some of which you have to climb into no-mans land to get to), but the weight of them causes your hands to absolutely hate you. Add some shitty plastic rope, and you’re bound for trouble.

I can’t say much about the attaching of the walls to the set, other than I drilled in a couple of screws here and there.

The cleaning of the 2k’s was probably the easiest of the jobs, as JD had some fun metho-ing the lenses to keep them nice and happy:)

Here comes the fun…

I can just imagine in 400 years tour guides going:  

“This, is thy Leaning Tower of Luke. It was designed by Luke Hawley in the year 2007, and was built using no more than two blocks, a ladder and the sheer will of him and his Techies dodging the watchful eye of Belly”.

Fun eh?

Well, Belly went and ruined our fun (albeit making it a lot safer) by making Luke go and put on the harness…

 Not to worry, After figuring out how the damn thing worked, we then hung the 22/40’s on the perch and took a heap of photos while doing it.

 All in all, a very tiring – but good fun – day.
