The ‘Lost’ Room… 6207-1826-025

Well, Time for a new post it seems..

Today JD and I slept in for an extra hour, and went down to Berwick to do the lights for their concert rehearsals which are tomorrow night.
It was a fun day, mostly a bludge, but we got a heap done and got to check out the new hall (well I’ve seen it before, but never really explored it). It’s a pretty good setup in all, apart from dome really random things that they have which they will either a) never use, or b) never figure out how to use.

Such things include:

  • About 25 Talkback points (not exaggerated), in really random places such as the Makeup Room, and THE DIMMER CUPBOARD????
  • THE DIMMER CUPBOARD??? It is in the most random spot, it takes you about five minutes to get there, and once you are there, you can’t see what your doing!!!!! (Maybe that’s why there’s a talkback port….)
  • The Makeup Room. What the hell?
  • About 5 doors that lead to nowhere
  • About 30 sound channels, but a board that supports 12….
  • House Light switches that a) Don’t fade, simply ON/OFF and; b) About 7 buttons just to turn the lights off!!! (and the buttons aren’t together either)
  • Two speakers above the stage (Like Aikman), which can’t be used…
  • The second bar is in a position that allows only to focus lights directly below..
  • Only one bar that is really usable
  • The bars take 5 minutes to come down

And, the most mysterious of all……

An underground room that is very reminiscent of the room off “Lost”. It’s almost completely concrete, with no furnishings except for air conditioning ducts, panels with big switches with red and green lights; and a single computer hard-wired into the system.

The computer was on standby, and when we moved the mouse it turned on with a full-screen app that had the entire hall’s climate control!!!!! (Including the pool!!!!) Hehe, the possibilities for abuse are endless!!!!!!

 Also, in the box there is a sheet attached to the phone with the Berwick extension numbers… Including the principal!!

Well that seems about it for today, I’ll take a photo of the room tomorrow to post.
